I’m not sure if it’s load-bearing or not, and I don’t want to take risks.

I’m trying to understand:

  • How do I know if a wall is load-bearing?
  • Do I need building consent to remove it?
  • Do I need an engineer or structural drawings?
  • What could happen if I remove it without checking?

Just want to make sure I don’t cause structural problems.
